G/L Account Maintenance |

General Ledger Account Maintenance is used to set up, add to, or delete accounts from your Chart of Accounts. (Before the Chart of Accounts can be set up, however, the structure of your account numbers must first be established in G/L Parameter Maintenance on the GLU menu.)
G/L Account Maintenance details accounts by number and description. (e.g., 1050 Cash - Payroll Accounts).
Location segments are not set up here. The account numbers are assumed to be valid for all locations.
It is not necessary to fill in zeroes (to the right) if sub accounts do not exist.
If an account needs to be retrieved for modification and you are uncertain of the number, simply enter a search word contained in the account description (such as Inv or Rent or Cash). The system scans the first few words of the descriptions and will display all accounts containing your search word. This feature also applies to the G/L account field in Invoice Data Entry.
